What is sensory play?
Sensory play is engaging with the senses through the medium of play. Sensory play encourages and fosters babies/children’s natural curiosity while they play, explore and investigate.
Sensory play is an important part of early childhood development and helps baby’s brains to create strong nerve connections. It also encourages the development of motor skills, language skills, interest in problem solving and exploring.
The best way to help babies to engage with their senses is to provide a sensory enriched play time with colours, textures and sounds....this is where our bags come in!
Did you know that by the time a child reaches the age of 5 the brain is 90% developed? There is a good 5 years of being able to help those little brains starting right from a baby!
Play is the most important way to learn!
What age are the sensory bags suitable for?
This is a super popular question!
The good news is our bags are suitable from newborn right up to 12 months (maybe even longer!). The way your baby engages with the items will change as they grow - our play ideas offer various ideas of how to play with each item through varying ages.
Did you know the brain grows quickist in the first 3 months of life than any other time?
Can I request a colour theme?
If you are after a specific colour or theme to your bag let me know and I will try my best to accommodate. I have had lots of requests for girl or boy bags or bags with a specific puppet in. It is YOUR bag so I am more than happy to make it the way you would like.
